Where do you go when downtown Seattle is packed with people while a global match is on the line? Seattle Beer Co. is our favorite not-so-secret place to catch World Cup matches without being elbow to elbow in a standing-room only crowds. Seattle Beer Co. is brightly lit with the glorious summer sunshine steaming in through all the windows and you’ll get to enjoy the game with some of the best beer the Northwest offers right near the waterfront. With games on every screen and a brilliant blue sky just outside the windows, we got to enjoy every pass while avoiding the worst of the heat. It was the perfect sanctuary to park ourselves, watch the drama unfold, and work our way through a few choice Pacific Northwest pours.

Here is how the taps stacked up during our match-day session.
1. Trap Door Brewing — Trap Door IPA
- Style: American IPA
- Wee Verdict: 3.25 Caps on Untappd
We kicked things off with a classic staple from Vancouver, Washington. Trap Door knows their way around clean execution, and this IPA serves as a highly reliable benchmark. It pours a clear golden hue with a modest white head, delivering upfront notes of pine and light citrus rind. While it didn’t rewrite the rulebook or push any boundaries, its crisp, resinous bitterness made it an incredibly refreshing companion to beat the afternoon heat during an intense first half. A solid, no-nonsense starter.

2. Backwoods Brewing Company — She Flies Hazy
- Style: Hazy / New England IPA
- Wee Verdict: 3.75 Caps on Untappd
As the tension on the pitch began to ramp up, we pivoted to something a bit softer and perfectly suited for a gorgeous summer day. Out of Carson, Washington, Backwoods brings us She Flies Hazy, and it instantly elevated the table. This one streams into the glass with that gorgeous, opaque, pale-straw glow you want from a proper New England style. The aroma is bursting with tropical fruit juice with hints of mango, passionfruit, and a whisper of sweet orange. It has a smooth flavor profile that completely hides any alcohol bite and finishes with just a hint of soft, grassy bitterness. It earned every bit of its 3.75 rating and vanished from the pint glass far too quickly.

3. Georgetown Brewing Company — Juniorzafa
- Style: Pale Ale / IPA
- Wee Verdict: 4.00 Caps on Untappd
Saving the best for the final whistle, we stayed local with Seattle’s own legends at Georgetown. Juniorzafa is masterfully balanced. Georgetown has an almost supernatural ability to make hoppy beers incredibly clean and deeply flavorful without ever weighing down your palate. This pour hits you with an absolute mosaic of bright citrus, stone fruit, and an underlying floral complexity. The malt backbone is dialed in perfectly, providing just enough support to let the hops shine bright and crisp. It easily took the match-day crown at a respectable 4.00 caps.
